After Lucy and Cana save Brandish from Marin, Brandish tries killing Lucy again to avenge her mother, Layla's servant and Aquarius's former caretaker Grammi, thinking that Layla murdered her for possession of Aquarius's key. However, Lucy is rescued by Aquarius, who reveals that a new key has appeared in Earth-land to replace her broken one, temporarily reuniting them. Aquarius shows Lucy and Brandish her memory of their mothers' pasts, revealing that Grammi was actually killed by her fellow servant Zoldio after Layla sacrificed her own life to open Eclipse in the absence of Aquarius's key. After Lucy and Brandish reconcile, Happy arrives at the guild with Natsu, whom Porlyusica diagnoses with a malignant tumor from over-exerting his magic against Zeref. Learning that the tumor cannot be removed, Brandish saves Natsu by shrinking the tumor. As Aquarius returns to the celestial world, Lucy resolves to find her key after the war. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail's allies continue to struggle against the Spriggan 12, with God Serena single-handedly overpowering the Four Emperors of Ishgal.
