Despite being surrounded and outnumbered, Fairy Tail continues to battle the Alvarez Empire's forces that have infiltrated Magnolia. Meanwhile, Brandish finds Lucy familiar and coerces her into sharing a bath with her. Before Lucy can use Aquarius's broken key to attack Brandish, Brandish realizes that Lucy is Layla Heartfilia's daughter and fights her. However, Cana Alberona rescues Lucy and knocks Marin unconscious to fight Brandish, unknowingly stopping Marin from negating Erza's magic during her own battle with Ajeel. When Erza uses water and wind-based attacks to counteract Ajeel's sand magic, he retaliates by conjuring a sandstorm that engulfs the city. Overwhelmed, Erza requips into her luminous Morning Star armor, which allows Bisca to aim Jupiter through the sandstorm and hit Ajeel, further allowing Erza to defeat him.
